The Applications of Electron Beam Welding in Many Industries

Our competitive products caters to a diverse clientele, ranging from wholesalers to manufacturers.

Areospace Welding

Electron beam welding has been used for decades in the fabrication and repair of jet engines, due to its ability to weld titanium, heat-resistant steel, and nickel-based alloys, as well as its ability to meet design requirements for weight, dimensional accuracy, and weld quality.

Automotive Welding

In the automotive industry, fibre-reinforced pistons are used in high-performance diesel engines. Due to high thermal loads, they are made of different aluminium alloys with cooling channels. The narrow welds lead to very low distortion of the work-piece and have a minimal impact on quality of the base materials.

Sensor and Electronics Welding

In electrolytic and resistance welding equipment, high-current flexible connectors (referred to as flexible connections) made of copper are required. The resistance of the fusion joint is significantly lower than that of a fusion joint in a conventional soldering operation.

Transmission Gear Welding

Torque converters and planetary gear carriers are parts of gearboxes, and gearbox components are one of the collars where electron beam welding is used on a large scale. They consist of deep-drawn housings and ribs, which are connected to the hub by individual ring welds. The length of the weld should be longer than the width of the rib plate.

Railway Forks Welding

Forks on railway tracks are highly susceptible to wear. Forks consist of manganese steel, which is mechanically deformed and rolled to increase its hardness. The forks were originally made in one piece and coated with maraging steel, which required extensive machining. Nowadays, electron beam welding of forks has been successfully carried out.

Electrifications Welding

Electric vehicles require a large number of rechargeable ground cells. The rechargeable battery consists of a close-fitting double die-cast aluminium casing, which has to be tightly covered at the top with a lid. Due to the relatively high gas content of the manufactured die-cast aluminium, it is difficult to achieve gas-free welding.
